Teaching has taught me a ton about the variety that exists within the walls of our societies concerning cultural perspectives, and stances on life in general.
I have tutored English, Linguistics + Biology at university levels.
As a teacher, I seek to embrace the students as full individuals, rather than mere students.
The classroom setting is one that I use to allow the students to tap into understanding themselves holistically.
I have the skills to teach all three levels - basic, intermediate, + advanced - levels of teaching.

My teaching style is one that remains consistent, but very considerate to the group that I am dealing with at that particular session.
It's incorporating elements of fun in the classroom - in delivery and outlook.
I aim to allow the student to grasp the information and content easily by associating it with fun and in ways that speak to their age group.
I seek to understand the student as an individual holistically.
I am expecting the student to challenge themselves in and outside the classroom.

Sharpened my skills in English tutoring. I am more aware.

Laurea triennale - Human Sciences - Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology.Here I managed to explore different topics - in depth. These were pertaining to my major, which is Neuropsychology, Applied psychology research methods. It helped me with a ton of knowledge dealing with human behavior. I use all these to comprehend myself and others. It assists me in class, to monitor students' responses and what styles of teaching they best respond to. It is vital that one understands the individual student holistically.

Tutor : Linguistics + Biology.I am very familiar with the use of online learning platforms. I have taught students at a university level, and I would attend to their queries and tutorials - off/line. I deem myself as open-minded. inquisitive + patience. These qualities allow myself to relate to students. Teaching different age groups, ethnicities and cultures has given me the gift of seeing the world for its variety, embracing it and has acted as a catalyst for learning from it.

Substitute teacher/tutor : English + Zulu.I was employed as a substitute teacher for grades 6 + 7. I taught Primary Biology, English and Zulu. It's a journey that forced upon me - the exploration encouraged of the love I have for kids, their fragile minds. This was after my Honor's degree (post-graduate) year - thus one could argue that I was well equipped for the position, knowledge from my research writing (proposal + paper) = inclusive of human behavior, granted me a great depth concerning the subject. My major = Neuropsychology.

Zulu - Substitute Teacher.Here I took students for Zulu. Which I am native speaker of. I did receive an Exemption at university level for this language, which is one of the languages I was exposed to since birth. I deem both English and Zulu - as native languages, I use these interchangeably in conversations, I am fluent in both. I studied isiZulu at school since my first grade till university. I have taken both primary school scholars for tutoring in the language, and tutored (and mentored) high scholars.

I just had the most delightful Zulu language lesson with Phila! Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable, but she also has a knack for making each lesson productive, fascinating, and enjoyable.
What I love most about Phila's teaching style is that she goes beyond just teaching the language. She takes the time to share the history and culture behind certain words, which has helped me gain a deeper appreciation for the language and its roots.
Phila comes to each lesson fully prepared, and she even provides additional materials after class to make learning Isizulu a breeze! In just a short time, I feel like I've made significant progress and now have a solid understanding of the core rules and concepts of the language.
I'm so grateful for such an amazing lesson and for Phila's dedication to helping me learn Zulu. I can't wait for our next lesson, and I'm excited to continue this language journey with her! :)

I can confidently say, that this was one of the best trial lessons Iβve ever experienced on ITalkie. Phila is very organized, she has multiple tasks to work with and within about 50 minutes we covered Grammar, Speaking and Reading exercises, which is very impressive. Thanks a lot ππ»π

I am preparing for IELTS speaking. Miss Phila is a great teacher. She points out what I am good at, and what I need to improve. After just one class I am felling more confident to speak. uPhila was such a good guide. Our first session was relaxed and I was able to quickly see where my pronunciation was lacking. She took her time waiting for me to get the hang of words and pronounce them till i got them right. I am absolutely working with her for the next lessons.

Miss Phila is a great teacher. I've had only one lesson with her so far, but I enjoyed our time together. She is highly qualified, professional, patient and friendly. We touched on many topics, and she provided lots of useful and new words for me.
Highly recommend this teacher! Hope my English level improves with Miss Phila's help :)
