Hello, my name's Joe. I'm a professional, CELTA qualified, English teacher with 8 years of teaching experience. Before becoming an English teacher I was a corporate lawyer specialising in business law.

I was a corporate lawyer for 5 years, a business English university lecturer for 3 years and a business English teacher for some of the largest corporations in the world. I've taught English in Japan since 2016. My focus is on creating enjoyable, interesting, discussion based lessons where I ask the questions and you do most of the talking. I write all of my own lessons and often include videos, self assessments, text analysis, listening exercises and role play to make each lesson unique and engaging.
I will be taking thorough notes throughout the lesson, employing a range of instant and delayed correction techniques to improve the accuracy of your English. You will receive a lesson handout, to help you to review and improve your English, at the end of each lesson.Il mio materiale didattico

The position required the highest possible standards of written and spoken communication in English. Each day I wrote more than a hundred professional letters and emails, negotiated with other lawyers, reported to executives, directors, CEO's and business owners and often gave speeches and made persuasive arguments in court.

I believe Joe is one of the best private business English teachers one could ever have. His background in law ensures that he possesses not only solid English knowledge but also the necessary experience in the business area. His well-structured course helps me to acquire key elements of business English, while simultaneously engaging in in-depth business discussions. I prefer to consider Joe's classes as a mini MBA course rather than just English classes.
