Hi! I'm Danielle and I'm from sunny South Africa.🌞 Here is a bit about me:
✨ I'm a proud mom and passionate teacher with a love for languages and cultures!
✨ I'm patient, friendly, fun-loving, open-minded and easy to talk to.
✨ I'm TEFL-certified with 3+ years experience teaching online.
✨ I've taught beginner to advanced students of all ages.
✨ I am currently studying part-time towards a BA degree (English and Psychology).
✨ My home languages are English AND Afrikaans, and my accents are neutral and easy to understand.

Professional TeacherI have been teaching English and Afrikaans here on italki since 2021. I've worked with just over 70 students so far (up to 2024) and taught close to 3000 lessons. My students usually stay with me long-term as I've been working with most of them for 1-2 years up to now. I've taught mostly children and teens (from beginner to upper-intermediate level), but also many adults in Afrikaans, Business English, General English and conversational classes.

Financial Accounting (Incomplete)I studied towards a bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting for 5 semesters before realising that a career in accounting was not for me, even though I passed every module with distinction. These subjects included Economics, Business Management, Commercial Law, Financial Accounting, Tax, Auditing and Financial Mathematics. I elected to pursue teaching as a primary career instead and focus on my own new business I had just started. I had, however, gained valuable experience in Business English.

Danielle is a supportive and professional Afrikaans teacher. Our lessons are always fun and engaging and I always thoroughly enjoy the time we spend together. Danielle takes the time to cater lessons to my interest and goals and always ensures my progress is put first. Learning Afrikaans with Danielle has been made even better by the fact that Danielle lives in South Africa which means she can explain and teach Afrikaans sayings and correct my tone of voice with expert advice and guidance which helps take my learning to another level.

Danielle is an exceptional teacher. She has been teaching English to my daughter and we are in awe about her approach. The lessons are great fun, Danielle knows exactly how to keep a child interested and motivated using plenty of tricks, props, games, and songs.
She has been very attentive to our needs and is focusing on the aspects of the language needing attention.
We are very happy to have found Danielle and I can wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone.
