Meine Arbeit im Kinderarbenteuerhof und im Waldkindergarten in Freiburg hat mir besonders Spaß gemacht und dort habe ich Erfahrungen beim Begleiten von Kindern und Jugendlichen in Lernprozessen sammeln können. In meiner Tätigkeit als Tagesmutter habe ich die Lernbegleitung von 7 heranwachsenden Jugendlichen durch tägliche Hausaufgabenbetreuung übernommen. In the words of Joseph Campbell, we human beings do best when we "follow our bliss." Throughout my adult life, teaching, and particularly teaching German, has been my bliss. I was fortunate to recognize teaching as my vocation when I was in college, and l had excellent training in language pedagogy when I was accepted as a teaching assistant at Ohio State's graduate program. I am at my happiest and most fulfilled when I am teaching a language class, whether face to face or online (a modality in which I became proficient during the Covid epidemic). For years I have had excellent teaching evaluations from my students, whether in the classroom or in one on one tutoring.

I’ve taught hundreds of students over the past years and the most important thing I’ve discovered is that we tend to avoid real "learning" by doing exercising which give us an illusion of competence and make us lose a lot of time and as a consequence thereof we tend to get frustrated and soon after we are likely to give up. I think, this is one of the main reasons of our failure in language acquisition. I believe, one of the best remedy to this problem is that the teacher and the student learn together and since real “learning” is tiring, we don’t have much time at our disposal due to the activities of daily living, I developed a method that is effective and efficient at the same time.

My goal as a teacher is that you get the most out of the class. How do I want to achieve that? 1) Create a comfortable atmosphere: You have to be relaxed and feel comfortable in order to learn. I will try to create a very comfortable atmosphere so you can concentrate on the lesson. 2) Teaching a fun class: The class should be fun and interesting, that’s when we get the best results. I would love to know about topics that interest you and consider them in my preparation of the class. 3) Speak as much German as possible: You have to get used to the structure, the sound and the rhythm of the language. That's why I want to encourage you that we speak as much German as possible during the class.

Ich heiße Saule, ich bin Deutschlehrerin mit der reichen Erfahrung. Mehr als 6 Jahre arbeite ich online, ich habe Studenten von Argentinien bis Australien. Ich bereite die Studenten auf alle Niveaus von A1 bis C2 vor.
