Moreover, through the programs Italiano+Arte and Italiano+Storia you can learn Italian and at the same time follow a discovery journey into italian history and/or art history. Working with images, maps and videos, we can explore Italy’s fascinating events and cultural heritage while mastering the italian language.

I have been teaching Italian for many years to foreigners in Florence, working for a voluntary association, and also at the UAM (Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana) in Mexico city and Aguascalientes, Mexico. In 2017 and 2018 I taught Italian in Australia. I have shaped my teaching over time by having to teach to people from 5 to 70 in many different situations, face to face, online, in schools, in neighbourhoods, in villages, in associations, even in different kind of churches and recreational clubs, using the most effective teaching approach based on the situation.

I mezzi a disposizione per l'approccio all'apprendimento di una nuova lingua o di una lingua poco conosciuta, sono molti. Oltre all'utilizzo dei classici manuali, vorrei spaziare partendo, ad esempio, in ambito orale, con la spiegazione di alcuni vocaboli ed espressioni di base, per poi continuare con letture di articoli, parti di libri, testi di canzoni e curiosità in ambito culturale. Il tutto verrà concordato con lo studente, sempre tenendo conto di quelle che sono le sue esigenze e competenze linguistiche. Sono molto paziente e ci tengo a creare un ambiente di scambio che metta lo studente a proprio agio.

I'm very open-minded and empathy is my strong point, I always appreciate my student's mistakes, yes mistakes! Because it means effort to put yourself in the game, not giving up even though you made a mistake. I think understanding that is the path of language proficiency. I have started teaching Italian when I was in China and I had to learn to teach to students whose mother tongue was completely different from mine, both in the grammar structure and the pronunciation. Despite these difficulties I found out I really enjoyed teaching Italian and my students surprised me with their progression!
