Spanish Philologist with two Master's Degrees in teaching (4 years+ on italki) I'm a calm and patient teacher and I can adapt to my student's pace. I like to make sure that my student understands everything and I don't mind explaining as many times as needed. I try to have my student actively participate in class, instead of me speaking all the time and reciting rules and theory. However, I am quite grammar focused and like doing exercises, reading and practising what we learn, so my classes are pretty structured, not just conversation practice about random topics. I am available for either recurring classes every week or single classes once in a while. So don’t worry if you have a busy schedule or if you just need me to help you practice from time to time.

My students are mainly from United States, but I have had students from Europe and Asia. I work online and in person with materials of my own creation focused on some communicative objetive.

As mentioned, I believe having a native grasp in both English and Spanish is an advantage. It allows me to easily translate idiomatic concepts and expressions that don’t have literal equivalent from one language to the other. I can draw meaning from my native understanding of both languages (and my experience in using both in daily life) to find the right examples and the closest translations from the source to the target language. I studied linguistics and, even though it is generally not required for a language teacher to be trained in linguistics, there is a growing number of experts in the community who believe it's a huge plus. I've drawn countless knowledge from it to teach.
