In this episode, we will be doing something slightly different. Since going forward, the first Monday of every month, we will embark on a thrilling journey that will immerse us in the sights, sounds, and stories of a different country each time. 

In this series, we won't just be tourists, we'll be explorers. We'll connect with a local to learn about the country, its culture, and dispel some of those stereotypes that we may all have. 

But enough from me. It's time to meet someone who knows this destination better than anyone I know. Our guest today is Fatima, she will be our guide as we travel to Iran.

Episode 19: Let's Travel to Iran!

Unlike her grandmother's generation, Chloe's age group is spending so much time on their phones at home that they are missing out on spending time with their friends in real life. Sheila, on the other hand, has made contact with old friends from school she hasn't heard from in forty years. 'We use Facebook to arrange to meet all over the country,' she says. 'It's changed my social life completely.'

Teenagers might have their parents to thank for their smartphone and social media addiction as their parents were the early adopters of the smartphone. Peter, 38 and father of two teenagers, reports that he used to be on his phone or laptop constantly. 'I was always connected and I felt like I was always working,' he says. 'How could I tell my kids to get off their phones if I was always in front of a screen myself?' So, in the evenings and at weekends, he takes his SIM card out of his smartphone and puts it into an old-style mobile phone that can only make calls and send text messages. 'I'm not completely cut off from the world in case of emergencies, but the important thing is I'm setting a better example to my kids and spending more quality time with them.'

From cheap student dinners to quick lunches and easy camping meals, people around the world love instant noodles.

According to the World Instant Noodle Association, the world ate more than 118 billion servings of instant noodles in 2021.

While they are easy to make, instant noodles can sometimes be a bit boring — but they don't have to be! So if you'd like your instant noodles to be a little tastier, here are some easy changes you can make:

Add flavor
Fresh ginger, green onions and garlic are found in many Asian dishes, and adding them to your instant noodles is an easy way to improve the taste.

Then, try adding extra sauces, like soy sauce, chili paste, oyster sauce, sesame oil or gochujang paste, among others. You could also try mixing a few of them together.

Add vegetables and eggs
Adding vegetables and eggs to your noodles will not only make them taste better — they'll also increase the nutrients in the dish.

Put an egg into the boiling water that your noodles are cooking in for an easy poached egg. You can also throw in some vegetables — like mushrooms, carrots or spinach — or cook them on their own and add them to your noodles afterward.

Add coconut milk
Add coconut milk to the noodle water to make a sweeter, creamier soup. You could then add some vegetables, meat or fish, and some lime and you'll end up with a dish that's similar to a Malaysian laksa — and just as tasty!
