Nada de presiones, exigencias etc. Estoy convencida que todo es cuestión de práctica, y mientras mejor te la pases, más vas a aprender. Como tutora me considero paciente y motivadora, y quiero crear un ambiente amigable donde te sientas a gusto y sin miedo de equivocarte. Quiero ayudarte a poder hablar finés desde el principio lo más posible, y cuando sea necesario, te explico las cosas en español.

El finlandés tiene fama de ser un idioma difícil, pero yo creo que el problema no es la dificultad sino que tiene una lógica diferente a la del español o el inglés. Por eso, al principio hay que sumergirse en la estructura del idioma (qué es super interesante! y que además explica un poco la forma de ver el mundo de los finlandeses). (Ahora) esto no quiere decir que vamos a dejar la práctica de lado. Vamos a utilizar el idioma desde la primera clase.

A good teacher gives room for the student to speak and to think, and that is what I aim to do when teaching. To me, wrapping your head around a completely new way of thinking that often comes with achieving fluency in a language is one of the best feelings I know, and I want to share it with you. As someone with a strong background in science, my specialty is scientific communication and technical writing. I also think my experience in grappling with abstract scientific concepts has taught me to explain grammatical concepts and semantic nuances in a concise and easily understandable way.

YKI-testi prep available! I believe that in language learning, the main thing is that you talk and communicate as much as you can. When you keep doing that, you can't help but learn to express yourself better in any language! Listening to native level language is also crucial - especially hearing the actual spoken language that natives speak! Spoken Finnish, for example, is quite different from formal Finnish. I'm an emphatic and patient teacher and I can adjust my speaking pace and style to any level. In my lessons, you will feel relaxed and safe. As a music teacher I know that a supportive atmosphere is vital for learning! I'm also more than happy to adjust the lessons to student's needs.

I am very adaptable to what works for you. I can be very demanding and nitpicking until I can't hear a difference compared to a native speaker or I can take a gentler and more encouraging approach.
