like if i want to say , "this thing is a little strange", do i say 這個東西奇怪一點 還是 一點奇怪。 應該說［奇怪一點］對不對？ 這個東西 有 一點奇怪。or more naturally, 這東西有點(兒)怪。 More examples: He is a little bit weird today. 他今天有點(兒)怪。 As for the sentence "I talked with him a little bit", I don't know exactly its meaning. 我跟他說一下 (not 我跟他說話一下)。should be " I will talk with him once.", if I translate it correctly. 我跟他說一下 is different from 我跟他說了一點兒（關於什麽的事情）, which means that I talked with him a little bit about sth.。 If 一點（兒）is used with verbs, I think it should be put behind verbs. e.g. 過來一點。 come a little bit. (translation is right?) If 一點（兒）is used with nouns, I think it should be put before nouns. e.g. 一點（兒）水 a bit water

Huh my theory above obviously has terrible flaws... One thing I think might be right is that if the "一點" is actually used to specify the adverb that is with the verb, you should use "一點/一些": 抬高一點/些, to put(v, 抬) higher (ad, 高) more/a bit. 放鬆一點/些. Well, "放鬆" could be recognized as a word or a phrase... 走快一些，偏左一點…… Well, forget about it. You don't want to know it. So you gotta learn little by little yourself. 一點一點地學。

:P just remember that : all modifiers(like adjective or adverb) go ahead . eg: 這個東西有一點奇怪[Simplified Chinese： 这个东西有一点奇怪]。 you shouldn't miss 有。it‘s the predicate in the sentence. just as 我跟他說一下話。here,說is the predicate,it's Indispensable.

"this thing is strange", 這個東西有點兒怪。（N + 一點兒） "I talked with him a little bit" 我只跟他聊了一點兒。。。。 （verb + 一點兒） hope it helps!
