1.placid industry 我不是太理解，可以理解为 平静的，平淡的工业/产业/行业  over 不能单独拿来理解，passed over 已过去的
2.a weasel snow-white for winter 是定语后置  for  为了，介词
3.a wintry sky die out beyond black elms可以翻成暗淡的天空在榆树林的远方逐渐暗淡下去。or 可以理解成“甚至”。
