Raymond

Raymond quickly adapted to my needs, playing a vital role in enhancing my Dutch speaking skills. His friendly encouragement made conversations feel natural, akin to chatting with a friend. I genuinely looked forward to my weekly lessons with him. His positive approach made speaking Dutch less challenging, reducing grammatical errors, broadening my active vocabulary, and enhancing my readiness for immersion in Dutch society. Over six months of weekly sessions, I progressed from A2.2/B1.1 to B1.2/B2.1 proficiency. While I had a decent grasp of vocabulary and grammar, I often struggled to put them into practice during speech. Raymond's classes significantly helped make my speech feel more natural and accurate. I now feel much closer to achieving professional fluency in the near future.

Ray is the best teacher I've ever had. His classes are well-structured, and he knows how difficult it might be to learn a new language from scratch. I started to feel progress almost immediately! Moreover, Raymond is not only an experienced tutor but also an interesting person: we can discuss everything - from politics and economics to films and tattoos.

I am someone who traditionally struggles to learn language, but Raymond is an unparalleled teacher. I feel for the first time that I am making substantial progress towards achieving my dream of being bilingual after many failed attempts in school. Raymond is attentive and knowledgable, he exhibits a fundamental understanding of many languages which allows him to tailer the course in a way that works best for you. I would highly recommend Raymond to anyone looking to learn a language.

Raymond is one of the coolest teachers I know - I very much admire and enjoy his modern and flexible approach. He’s also fun to partner with in my learning journey! The most important achievement for me so far is gaining in record time confidence to speak my (still) broken Dutch outside of the lessons. :)

Het zijn inmiddels bijna 50 lessen die ik via Italki heb gevolgd. Raymond is een hele goede leraar, die mijn Nederlandse taalniveau elke dag beter maakt. Hij is erg flexibel met zijn rooster en hij reageert op tijd op mijn berichten. Tijden onze lessen is hij creatief met de aanpak van het les geven en wisselt tussen klassieke en moderne trends. Hij is kritisch en eerlijk over de mogelijkheden, die in korte termijn en lange termijn bereikt kunnen worden. Mijn spreektaal gaat goed vooruit – het klinkt natuurlijker. Hij houdt mij geïnteresseerd in de taal.
