はい、こんにちは。洋平先生です。え、今日も発音に関してお話したいと思います。今日はですね、Nと母音（ぼいん）、vowelですねえ、日本の母音は”あいうえお” ですよね。えー、その2つ、Nと母音をコネクトしてはいけません。”つなげて発音してはいけません” という話をしたいです。
これはですね、本当に英語を話す人にとても多いですね。
 
え~Nと母音をコネクトしてしまうと、日本語は、意味が変わってしまうものがあるんですね。え、例えば100円、これのNと母音をコネクトしてしまうとですね。 100年になるんですよ、これ、意味が全く違いますよね、100円と100年。

あと、他にも店員、店員、えーsales clearkですよね、をコネクトすると転任（てんにん）になります。 
転任（てんにん）はちょっと難しい言葉なんですけども、えー、transfer、会社の場所が変わること や、えー、会社の仕事の内容が変わること。えーっと、上司から、命令されて、内容や場所が変わることですよね。それを転任と言います。
 
で、他にも”婚約（こんやく）”、婚約は皆さんわかりますか。 
これは、結婚の約束をするという意味なんですけども、
これをですね。えーまあNと母音のコネクトというかですね、早く言ってしまうと、”こんにゃく” となる時があるんですよ。え、こんにゃくはですね、食べ物の名前です。英語でconjakというそうなんですが、 これも意味が違いますよね。
 
えー、じゃあ最後に原因（げんいん）、原因「悪い理由」のことですよね。
原因をこれも結構よく聞くんですけど、早く言うと ”げんにん” という生徒がよくいるんですよ。え、”げんにん” という言葉が(日本語には）ないんですけど、日本人の耳には”芸人（げいにんい）”って聞こえるんですよ。で、芸人はコメディアンという意味なんです。 で、これもよく本当にレッスンをしていたら、芸人芸人っていう生徒が多くて、「ん？コメディアンの話してますか？」てなっちゃうんですよね、
そうなんですよ。ですからNと母音はコネクトしてはいけないんですね、わかりますか。
 
じゃ、えーっとですね。今日はそのNと母音が、となり同士にある文を9つ用意しました。んで、ちょっと皆さんで練習しましょうね。
じゃあ、皆さんは先に読んでくださいね。じゃあ、私が後で読みます。はい、じゃあ1番、はい！ 
①本を呼んだ。
②何を食べた。
③1万円でメロンを買った。
④ロンドンへ行った。
⑤店員を呼んだ。
⑥恋愛をした。
⑦昼ご飯を食べた。
⑧病院へ行った。
⑨その原因は何だった。
 
はい、皆さんどうですか。コネクトせずにちゃんと読めましたか。「本を読んだ」ですよ。「本の読んだ」じゃないですよ。

Attainable: I will start by summarizing after one agenda item per meeting, then gradually increase to all items over a month.
Relevant: Improved comprehension will lead to better participation and decision-making in meetings.
Time-bound: I will implement this for the next 3 months and evaluate progress then.
2. Enhance communication with family:

Specific: I will practice active listening with my partner by reflecting back their emotions and using open-ended questions during evening conversations.
Measurable: My partner will provide feedback on whether they feel heard and understood by my responses.
Attainable: I will focus on actively listening during one conversation per evening for the next two weeks.
Relevant: Improved communication will strengthen my relationship with my partner.
Time-bound: I will practice this for two weeks and then discuss adjustments with my partner.
3. Become a more supportive friend:

Specific: I will actively listen to a friend facing a challenge by maintaining eye contact, avoiding interruptions, and offering summaries of their situation.
Measurable: My friend will report feeling supported and understood after our conversation.
Attainable: I will dedicate focused listening time during one conversation with a friend per week for a month.
Relevant: Active listening will help me be a more supportive friend.
Time-bound: I will implement this for one month and then reflect on its impact on our friendship.
Remember, these are just examples. You can modify them to fit your specific needs and goals!

Young people in South Korea are turning their backs on marriage, according to a government report.

A survey by Statistics Korea of Koreans aged between 19 and 34 found that just 36% have a positive opinion of marriage.

That's down from 56% in 2012.

The report found that many young Koreans feel they do not have enough money for marriage at a time when the cost of living is high.

Others said they don't think that marriage is necessary.

The report also found that only 28% of the women surveyed have a positive opinion of marriage.

This may be because women are choosing to put their jobs first — before marrying and starting a family.

Earlier in the year, Statistics Korea said that the number of marriages in the country in 2022 was the lowest ever recorded.

There were 192,000 marriages in 2022. The number of marriages recorded has now decreased in each of the last 11 years.

The government is worried, and has spent years trying to encourage young people to marry and have children, since the country's birth rate is also falling.

But more Koreans are happy to stay single. There is even a word for people who choose not to marry: bihon.

And instead of encouraging Koreans to marry, some people are asking the government to do more for single people who have chosen to live on their own.
