Originalmente, em português, os nomes dos dias da semana tinham influência nos elementos astrológicos e dos deuses antigos; é possível relacionar os dias da semana com cada astro do Sistema Solar: Sol, Lua, Marte, Mercúrio, Júpiter, Vênus e Saturno. Com exceção do português, as outras línguas latinas, mantiveram essa prática. O deus romano da guerra Marte, continua representando a terça-feira nas outras línguas latinas com derivações, no Francês - Mardi, Italiano Martedì, Espanhol Martes e Romeno Marti. As línguas germânicas também não ficam para trás, a segunda-feira se refere a Lua no alemão, no inglês e no holandês, já os outros dias da semana , nas línguas germânicas, vem da mitologia nórdica. Mas, por que a língua portuguesa quis ser diferente? O que aconteceu? A movimentação dos astros não era algo relevante aos portugueses? Precisamente, no ano de 563, ocorreu um concílio católico na cidade portuguesa Braga e foi decidido que não era respeitoso para com o Deus católico usar os dias da semana na semana santa, pois na época, os dias representavam os deuses considerados pagãos pela igreja católica. Os bispos decidiram que , especificamente, na semana santa teria que mudar os dias da semana; provavelmente eles se inspiraram na língua hebraica da qual os dias da semana são representados por números. Então, Domingo, ficou sendo como o primeiro dia da semana, pois vem do latim dies Dominica, o dia do senhor. Sábado, deriva do hebreu Shabbat, dia do descanso dos Judeus. Entretanto, os portugueses, decidiram adotar essa versão especial da semana santa para o ano inteiro. Agora, o termo “feira” há duas possibilidades, a primeira, seria que essa palavra vem de feria , que significa descanso em latim… caso queria a descrição completa, me mande uma mensagem!

And explain why you think this person is interesting

Here are soem extra words you can use in your answers!

off the top of your head: from the knowledge you have in your memory

within spitting distance of something: next to or extremely near something

give or take: possibly a little more or less than the amount or time mentioned

hooked (on something): enjoying something very much, so that you want to do it, see it, etc. as much as possible

go into detail (about​/​on): to mention many facts or aspects of a situation

know sth like the back of your hand: to have very good and detailed knowledge of something

blow away: to impress someone very much or make them very excited

let off​/​blow off steam: to express your feelings of anger or excitement without harming anyone
