こんにちは。2022年、日本の元号（げんごう）を使うと令和（れいわ）4年、7月15日に映画（えいが）『ミニオンズフィーバー』（Minions: The Rise of Gru）が日本で劇場公開（げきじょうこうかい）されました。

映画に関する（かんする）言葉（ことば）は【第6回】など、以前（いぜん）のポッドキャストでも紹介しているので、ぜひお聞き下さい。

さて、この映画も邦題（ほうだい）、日本オリジナルのタイトルが付きました。『ミニオンズフィーバー』、英語にすると『Minions Fever』、しかしオリジナルタイトルは『Minions: The Rise of Gru』です。ややこしくて、紛らわしくて（まぎらわしくて）混乱（こんらん）しますね。

どうしてこんな邦題になったのでしょうか？『ミニオンズフィーバー』は1970年代（ねんだい）を舞台（ぶたい）にした映画です。日本でもヒットしたジョン・トラボルタ（John Travolta）主演（しゅえん）の、1977年のディスコ（disco）映画『サタデー・ナイト・フィーバー』（Saturday Night Fever）をイメージさせようとしたのでしょう。

もっとも、今の日本人はフィーバーと聞くと多くの人が、ディスコよりも日本の有名（ゆううめい）なギャンブル、賭け事（かけごと）とも言い、古い（ふるい）言葉（ことば）を使えば博打（ばくち）とも言います…、日本の有名なギャンブルのパチンコで、大当たり（おおあたり＝Jackpot）している光景（こうけい）をイメージするはずです。

日本人にとって、1970年代にヒットした映画と言えばブルース・リー（Bruce Lee＝李小龍＝Lei Siu Lung）のカンフー映画です。1973年の彼の映画『燃えよドラゴン』（Enter the Dragon＝龍爭虎鬥）は、世界中（せかいじゅう）で大ヒットしました。

ブルース・リーの漢字（かんじ）の名前（なまえ）を、日本人が日本風（にほんふう）に読む（よむ）と「り しょうりゅう」と読みます。しかし日本では彼の名を、誰もが「ブルース・リー」と呼び（よび）ます。

日本では中国（ちゅうごく）の人の名は、英語圏（えいごけん）で活躍（かつやく）する人、例えば（たとえば）ハリウッド映画に出演する俳優（はいゆう）たちは英語風（えいごふう）に読み、そうでない中国の方（かた）の名は、漢字の名を日本語風に呼ぶことが一般的（いっぱんてき）です。中国の方は、少し不思議（ふしぎ）に思うかもしれません。

70年代、ブルース・リーの映画がヒットした後、日本では沖縄（おきなわ）にルーツがある格闘技（かくとうぎ）、空手（からて）を使う主人公（しゅじんこう）が活躍するアクション映画がたくさん作られます。空手は海外（かいがい）にも広まり、1984年にアメリカで空手を習う（ならう）少年を主人公にした映画、『ベスト・キッド』（The Karate Kid）が作られます。

2018年、この『ベスト・キッド』の34年後を描いた（えがいた）ドラマ、『コブラ会』（Cobra Kai）がNetflixで配信（はいしん）されました。カンフー・空手は世界の格闘技だけでなく、サブカルチャー・ポップカルチャーにも大きな影響（えいきょう）を与えているのです。

少し脱線（だっせん）しました。…脱線とは電車（でんしゃ）や汽車（きしゃ）が線路（せんろ）から外れる（はずれる）こと、転じて（てんじて）本来（ほんらい）話す話題（わだい）を外れ、別の（べつの）話題を話すことを意味（いみ）します…『ミニオンズフィーバー』には、ブルース・リー映画のパロディが登場（とうじょう）します。

日本で『ミニオンズフィーバー』は、ブルース・リー映画のパロディを前面（ぜんめん）に出して宣伝（せんでん）されました。宣伝文句（もんく）、キャッチコピーは「燃えよドラゴン」ならぬ、「燃えよミニオン」です。

「キャッチコピー」とは日本人が勝手に作った英語、つまり和製英語（わせいえいご）と呼ばれるものです。英語圏（えいごけん）で正しくは（ただしくは）「キャッチフレーズ」と呼ぶようですね。日本人は「キャッチコピー」と「キャッチフレーズ」の2つの言葉を区別（くべつ）せず、いいかげんに使っています。あっ、また話が脱線しましたね。

『ミニオンズフィーバー』を見ると、過去（かこ）の映画や文化（ぶんか）や流行（りゅうこう）が、今を生きる私たちの世界に大きな影響（えいきょう）を与えている事実（じじつ）に気付かされます（きずかされます）。サブカルチャー・ポップカルチャーの世界は面白い（おもしろい）ですね。それでは、さようなら。

ɡǔ shí hòu，yǒu yí ɡè jiào yánɡ shí de xué shēnɡ，

tā hěn xǐ huān dú shū，xué xí fēi chánɡ nǔ lì。
他很喜欢读书，学习非常努力。
yǒu yì nián dōnɡ tiān，xià qǐ le dà xuě，tiān qì hěn lěnɡ。 
有一年冬天，下起了大雪，天气很冷。
zhī qián，yánɡ shí ɡēn lǎo shī chénɡ yí yuē dìnɡ le qǐnɡ jiào wèn tí，
之前，杨时跟老师程颐约定了请教问题，
wèi le zūn shǒu yuē dìnɡ， 
为了遵守约定，
tā hé tónɡ xué yì qǐ dǐnɡ zhe hán fēnɡ hé dà xuě， 
他和同学一起顶着寒风和大雪，
lái dào le chénɡ lǎo shī jiā。 
来到了程老师家。
chénɡ lǎo shī jiā bìnɡ bù jìn， 
程老师家并不近，
dào le lǎo shī jiā shí， 
到了老师家时，
zhènɡ shì chénɡ lǎo shī shuì wǔ jué de shí jiān。
正是程老师睡午觉的时间。
wèi le bù dān wù chénɡ lǎo shī xiū xi，
为了不耽误程老师休息，
yánɡ shí hé tónɡ xué jiù zhàn zài lǎo shī de mén qián děnɡ hòu。 
杨时和同学就站在老师的门前等候。
xuě yuè xià yuè dà，yuè lái yuè lěnɡ。 
雪越下越大，越来越冷。
tā men yě bù dònɡ yáo，
他们也不动摇，
rénɡ rán nài xīn de děnɡ zài mén wài。 
仍然耐心地等在门外。
děnɡ lǎo shī xǐnɡ le hòu， 
等老师醒了后，
fā xiàn tā men liǎnɡ rén zhàn zài xuě dì li，
发现他们两人站在雪地里，
mánɡ jiào tā men jìn wū li lái。
忙叫他们进屋里来。
lǎo shī shuō：“wǒ yǐ wéi xuě xià de nà me dà，  
老师说：“我以为雪下得那么大，
nǐ men bú huì lái le。 
你们不会来了。
méi xiǎnɡ dào nǐ men què nà me shǒu shí shǒu yuē， 
没有想到你们却那么守时守约，
zhēn shì hǎo yànɡ de！”
真是好样的！”
hòu lái rén men jiù bǎ zhè ɡe ɡù shì jiào zuò“chénɡ mén lì xuě”，  
后来人们就把这个故事叫做“程门立雪”，
lái xínɡ rónɡ rén shuō huà suàn shù、shǒu yuē。
来形容人说话算数、守约。

Narrator: Queen Elizabeth the First was born in 1533. Her father, King Henry the Eighth, was disappointed that his second wife Anne Boleyn had not produced a son and he had Anne’s head cut off when Elizabeth was only two years old. Elizabeth received the same education that a son would have and studied classical and modern languages, history and religion.

Narrator: When Henry died in 1547, Elizabeth’s younger brother Edward briefly became king, but on his death in 1553, her older sister Mary took over. Mary was a Catholic and wanted to bring England back into the Catholic faith after her father had broken with the Catholic Church and the Pope in Rome. She tried to achieve this by force and had 300 Protestants burnt at the stake. When “Bloody Mary” died childless in 1558, Elizabeth became queen.

Narrator: The first challenge Elizabeth faced was to bring the country together after the religious conflicts it had experienced during Mary’s rule. The Church of England that she set up occupied a middle ground between the Catholic and Protestant faiths and allowed some freedom in people’s personal beliefs as long as they attended church regularly. This saved England from further violence, although there were constant threats from both sides.

Narrator: Elizabeth was very skilled at presenting an image. She had many pictures of herself painted wearing expensive clothes and jewelry as well as makeup to make her face look pale, sometimes showing herself as a goddess or other figure from classical myths. She traveled around the country regularly on horseback so she could see and be seen by her people, who were very loyal to her.

Narrator: Elizabeth never married. Many men both at home and abroad wanted to marry her, but she played them off against each other. This meant she could avoid taking sides in various domestic and foreign political and religious conflicts, but it also meant that when she died, there would be no clear heir. She saw herself as married to the country...
