I think she means: let your hair down=> go to party and enjoy it, don't stay at home go out and enjoy Friday night! (Run out the stress)

Hi Bruce, you're right but it's also fun to look at idiomatic expressions and see which expressions exist in different languages. Also for non native speakers some idioms can be quite confusing, so this thread is just a bit of (hopefully useful) fun! Maybe you have one in Latin
