个人简介

2021年12月9日起成为italki教师

I grew up in the United States but am currently living in Albania with my significant other. I have had a range of professional experiences growing up ranging from the Military, to teaching in inner city schools with Teach for America to working in both Chambers of Congress in Washington, DC. I greatly enjoy reading, writing, spending time in nature and being around animals. I have been fortunate to travel a lot and have made it to all of the Continents with the exception of Antarctica.

My career in teaching started in 2011 when I joined Teach for America. I spent the next six years teaching high school social studies until I made the switch to teach English online with VIPkid and then live abroad. With my lessons you will benefit from having not only conversations, but also learning more about political and current events. I very much enjoy political and historical conversations where appropriate as this also allows us to exchange information about each other's cultures.

You will find that in my lessons I focus a lot on helping you to learn new vocabulary. I find that continuing to improve one's vocabulary prepares them for the best success whether it be academic, business or even just to travel. I also enjoy assigning short readings as this provides content that we can discuss during our lessons. Content is chosen based on the interests of the student :-)
