Francisca

Francisca was the first teacher I’ve tried with Italki, and she remains the standard of excellence against which I compare others. Always very well-prepared, ready to explain, help and lead one patiently. I originally wanted to learn a few phrases for my trip, but Francisca made me fall in love with Indonesian. I look forward to studying more with her.

It is not in my personality to write online reviews for any product or service. In fact, this is the first one I have ever submitted. However, I have been compelled to share my experience of being taught Bahasa Indonesia by Francisca so that others can seriously consider this teacher. I have now had 29 lessons with Francisca, in which I have gone through the beginner course, and am now in the intermediate course, becoming much more confident in my language skills along the way. Francisca has been supportive and professional at every stage. The lesson plans themselves are always thoughtfully arranged with prepared materials, exercises and even homework. It is up to you to put in the work, but Francisca will carefully lay out the path to success for you to follow. During the lessons, she is always kind, supportive, and patient with clarifications, corrections, and answering questions. This review is long overdue! Francisca is the answer to your Bahasa Indonesia goals!

Another great lesson. I have had many students tell me that it is a huge difference when they take a lesson with a teacher, as opposed to learning on their own, and I agree: a teacher like Francisca does make a huge difference in your progress. I had a disappointing experience with Francisca, a Bahasa language teacher. Unfortunately, she lacks the ability to instill enthusiasm for the language. Her teaching methods are devoid of passion and inspiration, which makes learning a beautiful language like Bahasa an unexciting journey. There's also a noticeable lack of organization in her lessons, contributing to a rather chaotic and unproductive learning environment. Additionally, her apathetic demeanor does little to encourage or motivate students. I strongly advise potential learners to consider other, more dedicated and kinder teachers on Italki, who also demonstrate a higher level of honesty in their teaching approach.

Fransisca is a reliable and professional teacher. She puts a lot of thought into improving my weakness, including pronunciation, speaking, and making sentences. It's also very comfortable and safe (and fun!) to practice conversation with her. Once we agreed that homework would be helpful for me, she immediately designs homework for me and corrects it prior to our lessons with useful feedback. She's very patient and eager to help.
