Roselle

Roselle provided an excellent introduction to Cebuano in our trial lesson. She was kind, resourceful and well-prepared with a nice visual Powerpoint presentation tailored to my own level and goals. Looking forward to continuing my Cebuano learning!

Roselle was really kind and I had loads of fun learning with her. The presentation was very effective(and pretty lol), and I felt like she chose useful phrases for my trial lesson. Sometimes people will give you outdated stuff from a textbook, but Roselle even explained the cultural context of when to use certain phrases. I booked a 60min lesson because the 30mins went by so fast. My friend from the Philippines will be so surprised when we chat later haha

The teacher is very friendly and cheerful. Was able to adjust the lesson to meet my learning goals

I've had the privilege of working with Roselle for several lessons now, and I can only say great things about my experience with her. Cebuano is a "heart language" for those of us who speak it and/or were raised in it, but it can sometimes be considered a second-class language (and culture!) in the Philippines compared to Tagalog. Furthermore, it is not as often taught formally in school, and a lot of Cebuano literature, music, and media can go overlooked. My experience of Roselle is as a teacher who is also passionate about Cebuano as such a "heart language", who also delights in the regional idiosyncrasies of the various Cebuano dialects, and who treats it both with the seriousness it deserves, and the levity it so often conveys and is known for! In my experience on iTalki and elsewhere, this is hard to find, and I count myself blessed to be learning from her. Magpadayon jud ko ug kat-on sa iyaha!

Roselle was well-prepared for the lesson and very easy to talk to. We discussed why I was learning Cebuano, and we covered some basic words and expressions. I plan to book more lessons with her.

Nalate ko sa atong klase pero padayon man pud si Roselle sa materyals that she prepared. Sa atong 30 mins nga class, we covered some homework, reading, word association activity, and encouraged me nga magpugos (to use words and phrases I know to think for myself). Was also a fun class.
