Liz

Liz is very personable, easy to talk to and can guide beginners in English for a comforting start to learning German!

Liz has made learning german so manageable and fun. I was feeling very overwhelmed about the language as a whole and in german classes with multiple students which was why I wanted to try Italki tutoring and how I found Liz. She makes every lesson and homework assignment really tailored to what is interesting to me which has made learning a lot easier and more engaging (ex: I work with kids, so when we do practice examples she creates examples for different situations with kids). She also provides really clear rules and examples that I can use to follow the language and continue learning outside of class and keep practicing. One thing that has been especially helpful has been using a german practice book I found online, going through and filling it out, noting where I have questions/am unsure, and then going through those sections with Liz and getting explanations. She has made learning german fun again and been such a positive teacher and person I always look forward to our lessons.

Liz is very experienced teacher knows how to lead the topics that student interests. Our class was focus on conversation. She can correct and improve my mistakes without interrupting the conversations - it's not easy and not many teachers can do that.

Taking lessons with Liz has been a great experience. I am mostly fluent in German but came to her to improve my writing and learn more specific vocabulary, and I have seen improvement in all of these things since starting lessons with her. She chooses topics based on my interests and gives me a listening, reading and writing assignment every week, which we then discuss and correct in class. Besides this, Liz is a very interesting conversationalist. I definitely recommend taking lessons with her.

Liz created a comfortable and engaging environment where I could express myself freely while receiving constructive feedback. It felt more like a natural conversation than a lesson, which is exactly what I was looking for to refine my fluency and confidence :)
