I am Asmelash from Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. I have a bachelor's degree in "Ethiopian Languages and Literature"; Masters in "Social anthropology"; advanced diploma in "Leadership and Social Change" and diploma in "Train the Trainers".
I am native in Tigrigna and Amharic and proficient in English. I have several years of experience in training people in various subjects. I am a coauthor of a book on Tigrinya proverbs and made some researches in Tigrinya and presented at different conferences.教学经验
I am trained in adult education and that will help me to understand and consider my students needs and personalities. I will try to understand the needs and levels of my students and plan the lessons accordingly. I make the lessons a step by step incremental, interactive, showing direction and encourage my students to understand the patterns in the different aspects of the language. I will follow an interactive and conversational way of teaching that gives chance for the learner to actively engage in the process. Certificate of publishing a book - Ethiopian Languages Academy - 1992I am a co-author of a book on "Tigrinya Proverbs" while I was at the Ethiopian Languages Academy. I was the team leader of the whole process from collection of the data from Eritrea and Tigray until the publication.
The certificate is in Amharic and it mentioned my contribution for the publication of the Tigrigna Proverbs book. It is signed by the then Minster of Culture.

Folklore Expert and Head of the departmentI have worked at the Ethiopian Languages Academy first as expert in folklore and later as head of the folklore department. The folklore department consists of several Ethiopian languages including Amharic, Tigrinya, Oromigna, Wolayta, Kembata and others. I was specifically working in the Tigrinya section while I was an expert and involved in the Amharic section when I was head of the department.

Asmelash is a wonderful instructor for heritage and non-heritage learners! I just finished my third lesson, and I found his teaching style to be intuitive, patient, and thorough. Lesson materials are clear and promptly sent after the end of the meeting. Questions are encouraged, and he always celebrates improvement and commitment. While I come from a heritage background, he meets people where they need support.
His anthropological work also makes him an invaluable resource for those working in academia or in industry. From our first meeting, he shared relevant information related to my research interests. During lessons, he provides contextual information on the social and historical evolution of language formation. His professional experience in the field shines in his instruction as literacy becomes a verbal and cultural skill.
While my Tigrinya studies just began, I know Asmelash will continue being a wonderful instructor.
