Sara Hamed

I've been working with Sara for almost a year! I really appreciate her for her knowledge, teaching style, charisma, and skill. I started working with her before I went to Egypt last April and was able to learn enough to feel safe taking Ubers by myself, and to shop and haggle at the market. I had the best of times practicing what I learned in Egypt and my weekly lessons with Sara were truly instrumental. I especially appreciate her patience, encouragement, and flexibility. I highly recommend her!

Sarah is a great teacher! I am very grateful for her help in getting me to pass the UN Arabic proficiency test. I've been taking lessons with her for years now and we continue to have fun, interesting lessons and conversations.

Great teacher

I've been working with Sara for about 10 months now, meeting with her 2-3 times per week to practice conversational Egyptian Arabic. I am Egyptian but was raised in the US, so I speak decently well but have a lot of room for improvement. Sara has really helped me to take my Arabic fluency to the next level. I recently traveled back to Egypt and I felt a lot more comfortable and confident speaking entirely in Arabic, even with strangers. Sara uses a variety of materials-- we follow the Kalimni Arabi book series for an academic approach, but also discuss TV shows (she has many great recommendations), news, politics, family issues, and so much more. Sara is easy to talk to, does a great job correcting mistakes without making you feel any shame, is funny and personable, and overall I really enjoy our lessons together. I highly recommend Sara!
