Matthias

Matthias is the French teacher of my dreams! I have been taking lessons with him consistently for the last 8 months, and during this time he has helped me immeasurably. My comprehension of both spoken and written French have improved enormously, and what I am most pleased about is that my ability to speak French with greater fluency is so much better. It is very clear that Matthias takes great pleasure in teaching French, and that he loves sharing his French culture and his life experiences. He customises each of my classes for my level and carefully prepares the materials he will use, for example spoken and written exercises, presentation slides, photos, videos, and all homework assignments. He is exceedingly patient, always enthusiastic and positive, and extremely kind. He is consistently well organised, and he is unfailingly passionate about teaching. Honestly, I cannot recommend him highly enough, he is an amazing French teacher! Huge thank you Matthias!

The children have learnt alot in a short amount of time with Matthias. We are happy with the lessons and instructions for homework afterwards.

Matthias is the most encouraging teacher I have had on italki! He is really good at pushing you out of your comfort zone without making you feel scared or uncomfortable. I was able to speak French from the first couple of classes because I felt safe and supported. My test preparation classes are thought-through and the feedback on my mistakes is very useful because it helps me learn the logic behind the task (not just what's correct)!

Todays lesson reviewed and practiced s'appeller and etre with conjugations. Although confusing at first, I was able to gain better knowledge and use for these with words with this lesson. Matthias appropriately geared the class and paced it for us well. He was very encouraging and motivational. I appreciated the compliment on my practice outside of the classroom. Looking forward to more lessons!

Matthias is a superb teacher! My 8 year old daughter and I have been taking classes for several weeks now and have learned so much. Matthias is patient and kind while providing a structured learning environment. He provides feedback, homework, answers all questions, and most importantly makes learning French fun! We are planning on traveling to France later this year and I have no doubt we will be able to speak some French with proper pronunciation. I would highly recommend Matthias as a teacher and will be continuing lessons with him. So glad to have found him on iTalki. His references alone speak for themself, but his caring attitude in helping us learn has truly made classes worthwhile.
