Welcome to my profile! I′m Eliška and I′ve been helping students learn practical communication skills and gain confidence while using English for more than 6 years. I have a CPE and TEFL certificates, master's degree in English language and literature and also in Czech literature. Three years ago, I also started teaching Czech here on italki and it became my passion because I started to appreciate all the beauties and mysteries of Czech language. If you also want to fall in love with this incredibly interesting language, our culture and history, don′t hesitate and book a lesson with me! I′ll be more than happy to tell you more about it :)

I′m a very patient and friendly teacher and as a language learner myself I understand how learning a foreign language can be a difficult task. My priority is to make your lessons engaging and enjoyable. I focus on my students and all lessons are tailored personally for them depending on their needs, interests and preferences. I have experience with students of different levels but I prefer teaching beginner to intermediate levels, as I feel I can contribute most at that point.我提供的课程和我的教学风格
You can book either English or Czech lessons with me. In my lessons, I focus mainly on conversation because I believe this is the best way how to master the language, but of course, we can also focus on grammar, vocabulary or exam preparation (if you need any help preparing for FCE, CAE or maturita exam). If you have no knowledge of Czech language or want to brush up on the very basics, I can help you with that because I also offer courses for absolute beginners.
So, if you decide to take lessons with me, I′ll be happy to help you reach your goals.

I started taking Czech lessons from Eliška about five years ago (I was an absolute beginner at the time), and this was our last lesson: Eliška is taking a break from Italki (she's about to have a baby), and I have basically reached my goal for Czech. I recently passed CCE-C1 (with 89.4%, no less), and out there in the real world, I feel like a competent enough Czech speaker (at a minimum, Czechs - pretty much all of them - have finally stopped switching to English with me). Eliška helped enormously. She can explain the nuances of the Czech language, and she is really good at keeping the conversation going. The latter becomes very important once you reach even just A2/B1 level, and it's obviously hugely important if you're going to practice conversation with the same person for hundreds of hours on your way to a fairly high level of proficiency. I was lucky to have her for a teacher, and I strongly recommend her to any serious Czech learners, as soon as her baby lets her come back! ;-)

Eliška was an excellent teacher for this lesson: professional, clear, knowledgable, helpful. I've had a lot of language teachers over the last year or so, and just from a half-an-hour trial lesson it was clear that she was up there as one of the best. Will be scheduling another class.

Lessons with Eliška are great. She has great energy that drives the conversation and provided good discussion topics on issues I am interested in. She also helps me with discerning the different levels of language as we take professional reading material but then look to speaking about it which is really important for intermediate students of languages in my opinion! Thank you!

Lekce s Eliškou je opravdu vynikající. Po hodině práce s ní cítím skutečný pokrok ve znalosti českého jazyka. A není to snadné. Po setkání se cítím uvolněnější v konverzaci, používám různé fráze a věty.
