Welcome to my profile! I am an energetic English and Italian teacher living in the beautiful Caribbean area. I came here in 2013 to follow an English teaching job, then decided to stay on this paradise island, where I also opened an arts centre where we started giving English and Italian classes to local people as well as organize artistic and cultural events of various kind. Living in the Caribbean is quite different from living in the north of Italy, my country of origin, but I enjoy both worlds and appreciate their differences. I love the sea, travelling, meeting people from all around the world and asking myself questions about life. I also adore reading, writing and teaching.

Teaching is one of my true lifelong passions. After graduating with honors in English and Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Bologna and receiving a CELTA pass A, I have taught for fifteen years to all levels and age groups. I have experienced the public and private school systems in Italy and Mexico, where I taught both language and literature. I am an enthusiastic person and as a teacher I would describe myself as competent, energetic and fun (at least so they say!). I am also very patient and I try to find the right approach for every student, so they can make the most of our classes and feel satisfied with their progress.

My classes are well-prepared and well-structured, according to the CELTA approach. In my courses I make sure we work on every skill (reading, writing, speaking, listening), and I usually mainly focus on one or two of them during each class. I use a wide range of materials and I try to find the most efficient ones for every student, depending on their learning style. I can vary my teaching style easily, according to the learner's needs and I am excellent at keeping motivation up, which is vital for quick language learning.

Michela is a dream teacher; she always knows (from English-speaking perspective) what you are trying to say and helps you bridge from speaking "Italian with English words" to "actual Italian as Italians speak." This is so important for moving from "good enough to make friends Italian" to "culturally fluent Italian." Brava!
