Ni hao! שלום
I’m Nadav. I grew up in America and started studying Mandarin when I was fourteen to help me find jobs after college. Since then, I haven’t stopped learning Mandarin or using it professionally. I took courses at Princeton, Brown, and spent five years in China. Now, I can ace HSK 6, the hardest Mandarin test for non-native speakers.
In ‘09, I started teaching Mandarin. First, I tutored it, but eventually I taught high school classes, including AP Chinese.
I also teach modern and biblical Hebrew, as Hebrew is my mother tongue. Besides languages, I love travelling and Tai Chi.
Message me so that we can set up a lesson. Zaijian! להתראות
教学经验
Why do I teach? I teach because I know that I will learn something new from each teaching experience, and because this path is one that benefits others and society. I approach the job with diligence and patience and confidence and humility, with extreme focus and an open mind. I am very patient, which is incredibly important, because learning takes time and involves challenges.
As a Mandarin teacher, my strength is teaching non-heritage students, as I myself am a non-heritage student. I can draw on my experiences studying Mandarin to identify the common mistakes that Westerners make when learning Mandarin and remedy them. As a Hebrew teacher, I bring a deep knowledge of my homeland.

Before each lesson, I make sure I am thoroughly prepared so that I can teach lucidly and coherently and know how to anticipate questions.
My lessons focus on listening comprehension and speaking, as these skills are the most important for communication in Mandarin or Hebrew. Furthermore, my classes are interactive as research has demonstrated that this approach is more engaging and efficient.
I tailor my lessons to my students' learning goals and styles. I also strive to make what I teach relevant to my students' lives by choosing topics that interest them.
