Hi, ともこです。I'm an experienced Japanese teacher and also a Japanese calligraphy artist. I was born and grew up in Japan, and I have been living in Australia for about 6 years. I love the beaches and natural landscapes here! I used to work at schools teaching English in Japan, and teaching Japanese in Australia. I run Japanese calligraphy workshops in Australia, too. I'm fluent in English, and can help explain Japanese grammar and vocabulary - great for beginners and for tricky advanced topics!

教学经验

I have been teaching Japanese for the past 4 years, and have helped my students at all levels - basic to advanced. My classes are usually conversation-based and customised to my students' language needs, whether it be grammar, idioms, vocabulary, or pronunciation. If you have something specific you need to prepare for, such as an upcoming interview, presentation or JLPT exams, I can definitely help you with that! I am also happy to answer any questions you have about material you are learning in other Japanese classes or by yourself, and help with document editing/proofreading. I want my classes to be relaxed, casual and hopefully have a bit of fun conversation! (Sorry, no child students)

I have my own worksheets for each topic, so you can master grammar points quickly! - Intermediate -Tobira and Quartet I provide various materials (websites, articles, videos and original worksheets) to help you improve and broaden your Japanese skills. -Customised lesson I’ll help you practice Japanese for travelling, proofread documents or speeches, study with your own materials, or help you prepare for specific exams – and more! I was an assistant journalist, I love reading, calligraphy, and making miso! I have so many things to share with you! Speak to you soon : )

I really appreciate the practice conversations. Although I live in Japan and I get to use my Japanese, the corrections and practice is necessary. Tomoaki-sensei helps my Japanese sound more natural. I’m learning Japanese I will use. Sensei is also fluent in English which is so helpful because she can teach me words that don’t have exact translations that I can look up in the dictionary. Look forward to my next lesson. I highly recommend. :)

I absolutely loved talking with Tomoko! I usually feel a bit nervous speaking in Japanese but she made me feel relaxed and I really appreciate that. I felt like I could express myself more in Japanese. Great lesson, will definitely book again :)

Tomoko sensei is a really good teacher. She always brings a positive attitude and has interesting topics to discuss. Tomoko sensei customizes lessons to meet your skill level and provides materials to complement each lesson. The lessons are fun and I always feel like I am improving.
