Hello, I’m Howard. I was born in Hong Kong. I can speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Teochew dialect, and Japanese. I started studying abroad in the UK when I was 17. I had studied A-levels in Leeds for two years before I studied Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham. “Learning languages is a journey.” I really love Hong Kong so I would like to share with you how Hong Kong is viewed by a local Hong Konger.
I often upload some videos about Hong Kong places to visit and to eat while speaking in Cantonese with English subtitles. I hope those videos would be helpful for beginners to learn Cantonese easier.

I have been a Cantonese and Madarin teacher on italki since 2019. I have met a wide variety of students across the world. I learnt Jyutping 粵拼 and Pinyin 拼音 on my own because I wish to understand the language difficulties they are having. I have also been a tutor who has been teaching other subjects in Hong Kong. I also teach piano as well :). The common thing is that I am patient and friendly. I am currently learning Japanese and I took online lessons on italki. I know exactly how a student feels. Please tell me anything if you want during the lesson and treat me as a friend! I usually ask you a couple of questions before we start our lesson. I offer Cantonese teaching materials, including Chapter 1 to 10 phrases and Chapter 1 to 10 daily dialogue.
I will show you videos about the explanation of tones and Jyutping (1-2 lessons)
I will show you how to type Jyutping if you are interested in learning Cantonese pronunciation.
Mandarin lessons:
