Originally from Fukuoka, Japan, I've lived in Singapore, Germany, and the UK over the past decade.
I'm passionate about playing volleyball, cooking, and of course, eating!
I was born and raised in Japan, spending most of my life on Kyushu Island and Okinawa—arguably the best parts of Japan. ;)
I completed my bachelor's degree at an international university in Oita Prefecture, and later pursued a training course in teaching Japanese.
Afterward, I moved overseas to teach.
In 2021, I completed additional training to specialize in teaching Japanese to younger learners.

With over 10 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from all over the world. I spent nearly 3 years teaching at the largest Japanese language school in Singapore, where I led classes from beginner to advanced levels, including group lessons, one-on-one sessions, and JLPT preparation courses for N5 and N4.
My teaching approach is based on the Direct Method (teaching Japanese in Japanese), which is strict but highly effective, but I am also fluent in English so you don’t need to worry about any language barriers.
In addition to my school experience, I’ve been teaching private lessons—both online and offline—for over a decade. On iTalki since 2020.我提供的课程和我的教学风格
I’m most familiar with the Minna no Nihongo (みんなのにほんご) textbook, but I also have the Genki (げんき) series and am happy to tailor lessons to your preference.

Shino is an amazing teacher. She grades her language brilliantly, her lessons are the perfect balance of fun and challenging. She's always happy and upbeat. Her English is amazing but she only uses it if she really really has to. I strongly recommend her!

I was very nervous after not speaking any Japanese for a while. I had a lesson the other day with another teacher and finished feeling very unconfident with my Japanese. But after today's lesson with Shino I feel so much better! She really makes you feel supported and gives clear explanations of grammar if you need them. A great balance of patience while you figure something out and knowing when to help.
Looking forward to my next lesson already. Thanks Shino!

Our lesson felt well prepared and suitable for my absolute beginner level, but allowed for us to get to know each other as well. We practiced conversational phrases and introductions, as well as some hiragana. Shino-sensei has a very clear and warm approach to teaching and made me feel very comfortable and motivated during our lesson. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to learn Japanese! ありがとうございます! :)

Shino Sensei never disappoints! Having a teacher like Shino is a blessing. Anyone hesitant about taking on Japanese should cast all doubts aside and grow with Shino Sensei.
