Welcome! 😊 My name is Jessica and I am from California in the United States.
I taught English in Japan for 2+ years and have since been teaching online.
I am 💯% committed to supporting you on your English learning journey with high quality lessons.
I have taught:

🗣No-textbook lessons: My goal is to give you the most speaking time. I ask you many questions to encourage you to speak. I correct errors and give feedback on vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, etc.
📘Textbook lessons: My goal is strengthen your English skills with structured study. I teach with high quality materials including audio, Powerpoint, PDFs, and more. I also introduce American cultural topics.
- I use Zoom.
- I recommend using a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection.

Class Types:
1️⃣First Lesson: A 30 minute conversation lesson is recommended. We discuss your English studies, self-introduction, etc.
2️⃣Casual Conversation Practice: Recommended for students who want to practice speaking without a textbook.
3️⃣English Communication: Recommended for students who want to study formally with a textbook to improve specific skills.
POLICIES
❌Cancellations must be 24 hours before lesson
⏰If you are late/absent, I will wait for half of the lesson time. Then I will leave and charge the full price of the class. If you book a class, you agree to my policy.

TEFL Certificate - Oxford Seminars - 2016I underwent an intensive 120 hour in-person and online training in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Course components included teaching methodologies, second language acquisition, classroom management, lesson planning, and more. I passed an in-person practicum, in which I planned and taught a lesson that was evaluated by an instructor. I also passed an online examination, which focused on teaching techniques and English grammar.
