Maitri

মৈত্রী! আমার বাংলা লেসন খুব খুব ভালোক লাগে! It’s been such a pleasure learning Bengali from Maitri over the last year and a half, I can’t thank her enough for such clear, concise, and flexible lessons! She teaches with authority, but always with kindness and willingness to adjust, each lesson is easy to follow and builds off the last. She’s also willing to share about her culture, food, and country, I feel like I’ve already been to Tripura and India before I’ve even gone! Wonderful teacher, very very highly recommended, it’s been a real joy to have Maitri as my Bengali teacher

Maitri is very patient and thorough. As a heritage speaker, I'm working through gaps in knowledge, and I feel that I am recovering vocabulary quickly. Because my comprehension is much better than speaking, Maitri conducts our lessons in Bangla, which helps me stay focused and take notes in script. I would recommend her lessons to any heritage speakers who have imbalanced listening, speaking, writing, etc. and want to fill in the gaps.

Maitri is a very helpful teacher. I have had several classes with her, and feel I am progressing well. She is supportive during our class time and has introduced new information at a manageable pace. She is patient and provides me with additional information/resources, and helpful tips on where/how/what to listen to, to learn the language more efficiently.

I love the structured lessons and really appreciate the patience Maitri has for questions and pronunciation!

Maitri, makes learning less difficult, adapting the lessons to the needs and interests of the student. I already feel I'm making progress. 

Maitri is the best language teacher I’ve ever had, without a doubt. She comes to each lesson extremely well-prepared, she’s very enthusiastic, and she understands well my personal language needs and goals. That, combined with her willingness to answer and incorporate cultural questions to her lessons, makes her very effective as a teacher of Bengali language and culture. I’m very blessed to be a student of hers, and I’ve seen my Bengali progress so far over my time with Maitri. I can’t recommend her enough as a teacher and as a friend!
