Tina

Tina is a true gem! She is incredibly enthusiastic, encouraging and patient. It is obvious she is very invested in her students' progress and goals. She is a professional teacher and it shows; she guides the lessons to your level and is able to explain things clearly and effectively, whether it be pronunciation, grammar, or cultural differences. I have taken lessons with her for several years now, and continue to progress by leaps and bounds. I was recently in Germany for a month and able to navigate almost all situations entirely in German. I highly recommend her if you want to bring your German to the next level!

Tina is a FANTASTIC teacher. She has customized my lessons to my level and goals. What makes her a great teacher? First, she speaks at the RIGHT level--vocabulary, speed, and clarity--for the student's ability. If things get too complex, she will switch to English, then back to Deutsch. She adjusts as I improve. Next, Tina gives lessons and learning approaches customized for my abilities and goals. If I stumble on a topic, she ALWAYS has summary sheets and worksheets to cover and practice that topic. And she is very encouraging. Tina is great for professionals like me. I learn German vocabulary and grammar for everyday life, but also we discuss topics that interest me. Every topic brings new vocabulary, and how to apply grammar lessons to real examples.

I have been learning German with Tina for one month now, and I can't recommend her enough! The lessons are fun, interactive, and so informational - German can be an exhausting language sometimes with so many rules, however Tina is incredibly patient and explains how everything works. I have progressed so much under her enthusiastic tutelage. It is very obvious that she enjoys teaching, and her materials are brilliant. The feedback is always encouraging, which motivates you to learn more. If you want to learn German, there is no greater teacher than Tina!

What I especially loved about Tina was her consultative approach during our trial lesson. I am a total beginner starting German from scratch and she was upfront about how I should invest my time and use the available resources at this level. That insight helped my understand how I can go about learning German in a cost-effective way. The second thing I like about Tina is that she does not stick to the regular A1, A2, B1, etc. structure. Instead, she teaches the most important building blocks early on and encourages learners to immerse themselves to the language through books, tv shows, etc. and produce speech from day one.
