Hello! My name is June. I am a Chinese tutor originally from China who has been living in Canada for the past two decades. I speak both Chinese and English and hold the Level 1-B Certificate of Mandarin Proficiency Test issued by the National Language Work Committee of China (level is equivalent to that of an announcer). Furthermore, I was awarded the honorary Certificate of Overseas Outstanding Teacher issued by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission of the State Council of China. In my free time, I like hiking, cooking, singing and traveling. 我的名字是June Zhao，是一位来自中国，现居住在加拿大的资深中文老师，会讲中英文两种语言，并持有中国国家语言文字工作委员会颁发的普通话水平测试一级乙等证书，普通话等级测试相当于播音员的水平；曾荣获由中国国务院侨务委员会颁发的海外优秀教师荣誉证书。我在业余时间喜欢远足，烹饪，唱歌及旅游。

教学经验

I have over twenty years of experience teaching Mandarin in China and Canada. I was responsible for planning engaging lesson plans, making interesting and thought-provoking assignments, and creating meaningful assessments for students all over the world from Kindergarten through Grade 12/adult. The content that I teach includes pinyin, Chinese characters, vocabulary, grammar, dialogue, listening, reading, and writing. At the same time, I will also introduce aspects of traditional Chinese culture tailored to the interests of the students. 我在中国和加拿大有20多年的中文教学经验，负责从幼儿园到12年级以及成人中文教育的所有课程计划，授课、作业和评估。授课内容包括拼音，汉字，词汇，语法，对话，听力，阅读和写作等。同时，我还将根据学生的兴趣介绍一些中国的传统文化。

My classroom atmosphere is both engaging and relaxing, so as to quickly and effectively improve the Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills of students. I select suitable teaching materials according to the students' individual situation and make full use of various multimedia tools to design the courses. I then add some fun to the teaching process, such as introducing and reviewing Chinese Pinyin through interactive activities and games, incorporating Chinese music and tongue twisters into character learning, and dialogue practice. 为了使课堂气氛轻松活跃，以便快速有效地提高学生的汉语听，说，读，写的能力，我会根据学生的情况选择合适的教材，然后充分利用各种多媒体工具来设计课程，并在教学过程增添一些轻松有趣的内容，例如通过互动活动和游戏学习和复习汉语拼音，或将中国音乐和绕口令融入汉字学习和对话练习中。

Junying (June) Zhao is an excellent teacher. Her lesson was challenging, interesting and enjoyable. During the lesson she introduced me to a plethora of new vocabulary, helped me with the proper enunciation of words, and discussed myriad topics with me. I am looking forward to continuing my studies with her again in the immediate future.
