Susie (Kids& Adults)

Susie is a natural-born teacher (great instincts for when to challenge me, when to indulge me, when to change topics/methods), who also extremely diligent (always prepared with materials for our lessons, and often with homework to assign, and also sends me class notes afterwards). (It's a really rare combination, as many gifted teachers don't bother putting in the work, and no amount of diligence can make up for a lack of natural talent.) Our lessons are both fun and challenging, she happily lets me steer her off topic with random questions (which she answers brilliantly), but always manages to bring us back on track, and she also frequently circles back to things I learned in previous lessons, so I don't forget. I really can't rave about her enough, although I selfishly hope she doesn't get too popular, because I don't want other people to steal my timeslots, and I plan to continue with her for a long time!

My daughter really enjoys the lessons and I appreciate Susie's flexibility in adapting the lessons to our needs. Susie is super organized and always sends a summary of what was learned including new vocabulary for reinforcement. It is evident that she really enjoys teaching. Thanks Susie! Susie is the best teacher! She's so organized and prepared, and yet still able to be very spontaneous and responsive. She challenges me just enough to make it interesting, but never enough to make me feel frustrated. I can see a lot of improvement in my speaking and listening skills, in my vocabulary, in my (limited) reading skills. I've had dozens of lessons with her, and I've had a lot of "off" days (bad health, insomnia, too much on my mind, etc.), but she has never had an off moment, and she is very patient with me when I struggle. And on my good days, our lessons are a pure joy for me.

Susie truly wants you to succeed. She does have an outline but is able to adjust and go with the flow. Definitely booking another class with her
