Hello, my name is Manvir, and I teach English on Italki as a community tutor and IELTS instructor. I was born in Toronto, Canada and I am a native English speaker. I am TEFL certified and have IELTS preparation certificate from Cambridge University. I studied at York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English. I have a passion for teaching and learning, and enjoy meeting new and interesting people!

教学经验

I really enjoy teaching! I have been a music tutor for 10 years, I give private lessons and group lessons to people of all ages. I decided to transfer my passion and skills for teaching music to teaching English. Having graduated with an English degree from a well-known university, I know it'll be a great fit. I'm well-versed in understanding each students unique language requirements and setting developmental goals to get them to their desired targets.

I am flexible with my teaching plan as I cater to the needs of each individual student. I have a few types of lessons: informal lessons that focus on everyday English and conversation, and academic lessons that sharpen reading and writing skills, as well as, vocabulary and grammar. I also prepare students for upcoming IELTS tests, where we work on speaking, reading, writing, and listening. I build classes around students' needs and goals.

My kid likes to have lesson with Mr Manvir. He has good experience to let kid follow his directions, he has strong education background that he understands hard materials /requirements from parent, and manages to work with student very well. Tutor also responses fast either regarding booking or questions. We have done many lessons already, and still keep going. Highly recommend!
