I'm patient and I have a strong sense for when I should take the wheel and help you, and when I should let the student struggle a bit to get through their personal walls. I'm internally passionate and very interested, but externally calm.

Learn Icelandic from a BA graduate in Icelandic! I strive to focus on students' needs, taking into account the fact that people have different reasons for learning Icelandic. I understand that the desire to learn a new language can be rather fickle, so my goal is to keep you motivated by balancing the practicalities of learning Icelandic with your own particular interest in the language.

Though only on an informal basis, I have always enjoyed teaching others since I know clearly what it is like to be on the other end as a student and aim to make students as comfortable as possible. I help motivate students to achieve success by concentrating on the goals that they have set for themselves. I keep teaching balanced by focusing on accurate pronunciation, correct grammar, and even additional areas such as language register (spoken vs. written language, slang, etc.).
