Además, comparando dos formas populares de entretenimiento, hablamos sobre si prefiere ver películas o jugar videojuegos, y si su personalidad cambia cuando está inmerso en un juego. También tocamos el tema del alivio del estrés y cómo los videojuegos pueden desempeñar un papel en este aspecto.

Finalmente, le planteé una pregunta interesante: ¿preferiría regalar un buen libro o un buen videojuego para el cumpleaños de su hermana o hermano menor? How much does a Mexican know about Refranes colombianos? Part 1

Negotiations are a dance – a balance between collaboration and advocating for your position. Confidence is, of course, key, and the language you use plays a crucial role in conveying it. 

Here's how to harness the power of words in three key areas:

1. Framing & Highlighting Value:

Start Strong: Open with a positive, confident statement that positions your value. Instead of "We're happy to discuss this opportunity," try "Our solution has a proven track record of increasing sales by X%."

Focus on Benefits: Shift the conversation from features to the benefits your offer brings. Don't just say "Our software is user-friendly," explain how it "streamlines workflows and saves your team time."

2. Concession Language with Strength:

Conditional Agreements: Acknowledge their points without conceding defeat. Use phrases like "That's a valid concern. To address it, we can offer..." This shows you're listening while steering the discussion.

"We Can" vs. "We Might": Use strong verbs that project confidence. "We can offer a discount for a bulk order" sounds more assured than "We might be able to consider a discount."

3. Closing the Deal with Clarity:

Active Voice & Ownership: Phrases like "We propose a contract with..." sound stronger than "Perhaps we could have a contract."

Summarize & Confirm: Recap key points and confirm next steps. End with "By finalizing the contract today, we can begin implementation next week"

Confident language isn't about aggression; it's about clear, persuasive communication. By strategically using these tips, you'll project confidence, effectively advocate for your value, and navigate negotiations with power and professionalism.

A bluefin tuna was sold for 36.04 million yen -- around $273,000 -- at the first auction of the year at Tokyo's Toyosu fish market.

The price of the 212-kilogram fish was more than double that of the most expensive fish at last year's New Year's auction: a 211-kilogram fish that sold for 16.88 million yen -- at that time worth $145,000.

Both fish were caught off the coast of the town of Oma in Aomori prefecture.

This year's auction began at 5:10 a.m. on January 5, and around 230 tuna were sold in just 15 minutes.

Seafood wholesaler Yamayuki bought this year's most expensive fish for the sushi restaurant Ginza Onodera. The tuna was served to the restaurant's customers later that same day.

This is the third year in a row that Yamayuki has bought the most expensive tuna. However, prices had fallen in recent years as the restaurant industry suffered during the coronavirus pandemic.

Yamayuki's president Yukitaka Yamaguchi told The Yomiuri Shimbun that the increased price this year "is good news that symbolizes the gradual recovery from the pandemic."

This year's top price was the sixth highest since records began being kept in 1999.

The highest price recorded was at the New Year's auction in 2019 -- just after Tokyo's fish market moved from Tsukiji to Toyosu. At that auction, a 278-kilogram fish was sold for 333.6 million yen -- at that time $3 million -- to Kiyomura Corp., whose owner, Kiyoshi Kimura, runs the Sushi Zanmai restaurant chain.
