THE ITALIAN FLAG The Italian flag is a vertically striped flag. Each stripe has
a different colour. From left to right: the first band is green, which
represents the Mediterranean scrub, typical of our landscape; the middle band is
white, which represents the white snow of the Alps - one of the most important
Italian mountain chains; the last band is red, a colour that symbolises the
blood given by all those people who have fought for the unification of Italy.
