I love eating instant noodles. Roughly, I eat them at least once a week (...or twice or three times a week). Since a study says that eating noodles often can lead to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, hypertension, heart problems and more, my eating habits will probably do damage to me. But, WHO CARES? 😂 What is the point of living a few years longer if I can’t enjoy this gift from...an Asian god…? 😎 So, here are my Top 3 instant Korean noodles. I hope this post makes you crave noodles and forget about all the potential diseases. 3. Nongshim Chapagetti (농심 짜파게티) Nongshim Chapagetti imitates the Korean-Chinese style brothless black bean noodles, Jjajangmeyon (짜장면), which is based on the Chinese dish, Zhajjangmian (자장몐). People around the world have probably heard about this brand from the hit movie "Parasite." (Yeah, that "Chapa" from "Chapaguri" comes from this one.) 2. Paldo Bibimmeyon (팔도 비빔면) Here is another brothless instant noodle dish. The way you cook this one is pretty similar to Nongshim Chapagetti, in terms of how you have to mix sauce and noodles by rubbing them. But the main difference is that you have to strain the hot water and rinse the noodles with cold water for this one since it is meant to be a cold, summer food! (Plus, the sauce is made with pepper paste, so it is spicier.) 1. Nongshim Shinramyeon (농심 신라면) Last but not least, I can’t rule out Nongshim Shinramyeon, the most popular instant noodles brand in Korea. :) According to data by Statista, Nongshim Shinramyeon made up a 34% share of the Korean instant market as of March last year. That was roughly 20% higher than the second best-selling brand, Ottogi Jin Ramyon! Crazy, right? For me, what’s special about this brand is its price, as well as its delicious flavor. While most noodles in South Korea cost more than $1 for a packet, it’s still below $1… This is it! I hope this post helps your diet and plan to eat healthily.
