As a preposition, are "toward" and "towards" alternative words in any cases ? Does the "~s" in the end matter?
My instance
{They are only too generous towards me.}

Hello,
Toward means 'in the direction of'. Toward and towards are completely interchangeable, so you can use either one whenever you want.
I hope this answers your question. If you’d like to practice speaking. I’d be happy to help you develop a study plan. Feel free to view my teaching profile and class offerings and send me a message if you think I can help you.
Regards.

According to Practical English Usage, towards is more common in British English, toward in the US. They both mean the same.
