what does this expression mean?

"there's just no getting around it"

I heard this expression while watching a youtube video and I didn't get the meaning.

As this is the DISCUSSION page, perhaps you could TURN IT INTO a discussion.

Something like, "Name something in life  that there is NO GETTING AROUND!

Yes, as Steven says, we usually use it when talking about problems of some kind. Either you need information about the problem in a clause in the sentence, or the person you are speaking to mentions the problem and then you agree that there is 'no getting around it.'

For example, "I hate paying taxes but if I don't, I'll get in big trouble. I guess I'll have to pay!"

The other person agrees. "I'm afraid so. There's no getting around it."

Or, like this, "There's no getting around the fact that the taxman will be after me and I'll be in trouble if I don't pay."

It just means you can't avoid something, but it's normally used figuratively. It's used in conjunction with another phrase like, "there's no getting around the fact that he just doesn't speak English." You could say something that has a more literal meaning, like "there's no getting around the hole in the road, or "no getting around it" but as I said it seems to be used more figuratively like "there's no getting around" a problem of some kind.
