We have this funny expression in English, "you snooze, you lose."  It's popular obviously because it rhymes, but it also has a lot of truth to it.  It basically means that if you are not alert and attentive, you will miss out on opportunities. For example, if you procrastinate signing up for classes, and then when you go to sign up, the class is full, we can say "You snooze, you lose."

I was curious if this is an expression that is translatable into other languages.  Does your language have an expression similar to this that rhymes or doesn't rhyme?
