What do you think Swedish sounds like?

I have always wondered what people think about Swedish, how does it sound? Some people say it sounds like German, Russian.... What do you think? :)

Here's a link to the Swedish chef, if anyone's interested:

Swedish isn't really that different from English, and no, it doesn't sound at all like German or Russian to the English-speaking person. Swedish sounds appealingly and nonsensically musical and upsy-downsy burbly-burbly to us, but then suddenly something jumps out as clear as day. Subtitled Swedish thrillers are enjoying something of a cult following in the UK at the moment, and I always find it hilarious (amid all the burbly-burbly sounds) that suddenly you hear a knock on the door and someone says 'Komma in', which sounds exactly like 'Come in!', or 'Gå hem' which means - and sounds identical to - 'Go home'!

Check out the Swedish chef from the Muppets. That's what Swedish sounds like to foreign ears!

A few years agoa, we hosted an exchange student from Sweden, so I grew to love listening to him speak in Swedish with is friends and family.  But to be honest, my first impression of Swedish was more like this clip from the Muppet Show:http://youtu.be/RhRkAzaDuyg
