Mario's answer is correct, I will give you more examples though. No te hagas el que no fue (do not pretend that you did not go) No te hagas el que no quiere comer (do not pretend that you do not want to eat) No te hagas la que no sabía (do not pretend that you did not know) The sentence "no te hagas" literaly means "do not pretend to be the one that..." So a literal translation of No te hagas el que no tiene dinero Do not pretend to be the one that does not have money. But you can just say: Do not pretend that you do not have money. This expression comes from the verb "hacerse" but used in the subjunctive mood, it basically means " Don't play "(something) 1. No te hagas el tonto ( Don't play dumb ) 2. No te hagas el sueco ( Don't play dumb ) 3. No te hagas la víctima (Don't play the victim ) etc
