Is the slang phrase "cool beans" still being used throughout the world today or something?
In the mid-90's, this slang phrase to mean "cool", "awesome", "great", etc. was used in my area of the United States by the younger crowd. It has since died out. Yet, a few foreign employees who recently started working at my company use it all the time. I am wondering if they picked this up from British English, if it is used there still or ever was, or where exactly they could have. It's just a curiosity of mine, although my other American co-workers think it is so lame for someone to use this expression. I believe that anyone should be able to express themselves as they see fit and should be able to use whatever vocabulary they want, I wonder if I should advise them against using it if they don't want to be considered a loser here though. Hehehehe. Btw, for a reference point, these employees are from Russia. Perhaps they picked it up from circa 1993 American television or something. I don't know. Hmmm. LOL
