Why does the moon have to disappear because it is so busy? “Sometimes, they say, the moon is so busy with the new souls of the world that it disappears from the sky. That is why we have moonless nights. But in the end, the moon always returns, as do we all.” ― Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie What does this passage mean? Why does the moon have to disappear because it is so busy? And I don't know whether there are any links between the moon returning and men coming back. Please help me!

Yes, this is from the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" which is about a man spending time with his dying friend. Therefore, I think he is using the moon as a metaphor for the phases of life and death. The moon goes through different phases and sometimes is not visible to us here on Earth. However, the moon is still there, even when we can't see it. I think he is saying that the same can be said of friends that die. Like the moon, they don't completely disappear. They are simply hidden from our view temporarily and one day they will return to view.

There's no reason to read it literally. Check Robin's answer and use the idea to guide your imagination.
