"I feel like skating on thin ice with her" It is like when you are so scared to talk or do something that might make someone angry. You are in the risky situation that you have to be careful in whatever you are doing. For example, I am really hungry and grumpy and you do not want me to go mad so you carefully say or do something that will not make me angry. Hope that this helps a bit :)

Literally, when you go skating on thin ice you are taking a big risk. You need to be extremely careful. If you make the slightest mistake, or fail to judge the thickness of the ice perfectly, you will break through the ice and fall in. (You will quite possibly die from hypothermia). "I feel like I am skating on thin ice with her" means "I am afraid if I say something wrong--I'm afraid if I don't do everything exactly right--she will be angry and reject me." Two other idioms with similar meanings are "I feel like I'm walking on eggs" and "I feel like I'm tiptoeing through a minefield."

First of all, it should say "I feel like I am skating on thin ice. The 'I am' is important because it describes a situation rather than makes a suggestion (Feel like skating ... is a suggestion) But, it means that you think things can go wrong or that you are close to a bad ending. Like i you skated on thin ice and it broke, you would be falling into very cold water.

Also, it should be "I feel like I am skating on thin ice with her." Otherwise, it sounds like a desire to skate on thin ice with a person, which would be a very strange desire. :)
