Hi, my name is Mika and I live in Nagoya (my hometown) ,I also lived in Tokyo for two decades.
My favorite things are traveling, shopping, studying language and playing sports.
As my job other than italki, I have run my own company for decade in Japan.
And in such a world situation, I'm interested in the job of diplomacy and continue to learn about it to support people around the world.
As for my personality, I'm energetic, curious, engaging, and fun!
海外や英語の勉強、そして人と接することが好きでitalkiの講師になりました。
現在名古屋に住んでおり、東京にも10数年程住んでいました。
好きなことは旅行や買い物、言語を学ぶことやスポーツをすることです。
italki以外では日本で会社を経営して10年になります。
そしてこのような世界情勢の中で”外交”に興味を持ち、世界中の方々の力になれたらと考え学びを進めています。
性格は活発で好奇心旺盛、そして明るいと思います。我的教學經歷
I am a native speaker of Japanese and I also have had the opportunity to live in Los Angels (Santa Monica), New York (Manhattan/Queens) and Hawaii (Honolulu/Kaneohe) for a combined several years, therefore I can support students with English too.
As a Japanese teacher, I would like to teach students slowly, clearly, and with warm hospitality.

私は日本語を母国語としており、アメリカのLos Angels,New York, Hawaiiの海外留学の経験もあるので英語でのサポートも可能です。

My typical class style is conversational practice with fun, but I can also teach you pronounce, grammer, how to make a sentence, read and write if you have interest.
I listen carefully to the student's pronunciation and am skilled at helping them sound like a Japanese speaker.
I had been a job related to speaking so I’m good at lessons that improve student's speaking skill - value a natural, fun, easy-to-talk atmosphere and humor. Recommended for those who want to improve their speaking skills.

Today’s lesson with Mikaさん highlighted something I take for granted - the balance of conversation. Mikaさん is a great listener and allows me to speak without interruption. I notice that she often pauses after she says something so that I can continue if I want to. But there’s also a great balance in the conversation so that I can listen to her stories (which are interesting and engaging btw) and practice my listening. This is an ideal way for me to learn Japanese because I can listen to interesting stories while also having the support of Mikaさん to quickly learn new words.

Thanks for today’s lesson Mika! Today we went over JLPT practice questions focusing on my weak areas. Learned a bunch of new kanji and vocab too. いつもありがとう！お疲れ〜
