My name is Maru.
I’m from Tokyo, Japan, lived in the UK, Australia, Egypt, and currently in France!

I used to work as a scuba diving instructor in Egypt and Okinawa, and I am now a professional Japanese teacher and travel advisor.

I am a certified teacher and travel planner.
I have experience launching and organising language programs. I have personally faced the challenges of learning English and French, so I understand what is needed to improve language skills. Instead of just academic learning through textbooks, I’ll teach you practical, real-world Japanese!
I hold a national qualification in the travel industry and also work as a travel planner. So, I can not only teach you Japanese for travel purposes but also help you plan your trip. For students who can already hold basic conversations, I recommend my conversation practice sessions. Through enjoyable conversations, you'll naturally develop your vocabulary, get a feel for Japanese sentence structure, notice and correct your mistakes, and work on your pronunciation.

I've been taking lessons with Maru for almost 3 months now, the lessons have helped a lot with expanding my vocab, and the conversations are always interesting. I really appreciate the notes that she shares after each lesson, as they are great for revising. I intend to keep taking lessons with Maru for quite a while.

Maru is super kind and funny ! It was really pleasant to chat with her and she enjoys sharing her tips about tourism or traveling in Japan. I recommend if you need to have a non fuss, chilled out time talking in Japanese with a natove speaker. :) Mata ne Maru!

Maru-san was able to help me with my very specific request (which I had forgotten to ask in advance)! We discussed scuba diving terminology in preparation for an upcoming trip of mine, while still correcting and explaining grammar mistakes I made.

I was very impressed with Maru先生! Her presentation was organized, she asked many questions, and she was interesting to talk to. She even provided me with resources to improve my Japanese outside of class. I hope that she will open more time slots for the end of the month, because I'd like to book another lesson!
