Hello, my name is Stephan.
I am German and currently live in Finland.
Language learning should be fun. Conversation and active use of a language is the fastest way to become fluent. I experienced this myself in Russian and Japanese and I am currently learning Finnish. Conversation, games, roleplays, interaction are great tools to use a language and become fluent in a joyful way.
A regular schedule is required for steady progress. For this reason, my lesson packages (5, 10 or 20 lessons) are discounted compared to the single-lesson price.我的教學經歷
Since 2010, I constantly learn together with conversation partners in various languages.
From this experience, I have gained ideas how language learning through conversation and via the internet is fun and efficient. My professional background is in education, but not in languages but in technical domains. This is is a little different than teaching in 1:1 settings, but I am still using several ideas from my other life also on italki.

I am happy to adapt to your needs and wishes.
If you like, I suggest to compose each lecture from several blocks, such as brief free speaking as a warm-up (2-3min), Grammar and Vocabulary repetitions (5-10 Min), a presentation by you and which you prepared for the lesson, as well as language exercises such as roleplays, discussion about books, magazines, newspapers, as well as answering any questions you might have or bring into the lesson. If you like, I recommend that a small homework, such as reading or writing exercises support your learning too.
Topic can be very flexible according to your interest. I have a technical background by profession, but I also like arts, nature or sports.我的教材

I had another wonderful lesson with Stephan. He is very patient and his explanations for vocabulary and grammar are clear.
I also enjoy that he customises the lessons to my needs and has fun activities to practice speaking. Overall, I feel it is a very comfortable learning environment free of judgement.
