Hello, my name is Yuya.
I’m a certified Japanese teacher based in Oita, with over 4,000 hours of teaching experience spanning 4 years.
My hobbies are going to hot springs and playing African drums.
Language learning is like an endless marathon. It’s not easy to become fluent overnight, and there are times when you might feel like giving up. I want to be there for you, like a running partner, supporting you along the way.

I'm a professional teacher certified to teach Japanese. I've accumulated around 4,000 hours of experience teaching basic grammar, JLPT preparation, and more.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked for 12 years at a TV station, which enabled me to learn practical business Japanese for the lessons I teach today.

For Beginners
Learn basic grammar using the "GENKI" textbook. Enhance foundational skills and gradually improve speaking ability. I'll introduce efficient learning methods, useful websites, and apps.
For Intermediate Learners
Use the "Cyuukyuu Quartet" textbook to progress to advanced levels. Practice by reading web news articles and learning practical Japanese for everyday conversations and real-life situations.
For Advanced Learners
Learn practical Japanese for working in Japanese companies, including business Japanese, Keigo, and other real-life language skills.
All Levels

This is my second review as of now. I have learned so much from Yuya that I can’t believe how much I have grown in my Japanese speaking skills. Being able to speak in the language I am learning has helped tremendously in my journey. Yuya is great at leading the conversation while helping correct mistakes along the way. Never once have I been scared to try new grammar or vocabulary when talking with Yuya. Every lesson I learn something new and gain practice on what I learned before. Yuya was really kind and patient while learning my level and understanding. Taking the time to help me repeat and memorise areas new or difficult for me.

I've had lessons with Yuya for a while now. He is a very patient and motivating teacher. He also helped me prepare for JLPT exam, which I also passed. He knows how to adapt to different levels and he's been very helpful until now. I would definitely recommend him.
